About Us
Indie Darling Bookstore is opening in November 2025, and we'd love to have you join our team! We’re creating a cozy, colorful haven at 325 Main Street in Lander: part neighborhood bookstore, part whimsical tea shop, and part creative gathering space. Our mission is to spark curiosity, celebrate stories, and offer a welcoming home for readers of all ages. We will carry a curated selection of new and used books, as well as gifts and merchandise that complement our bookstore. The store also features a tea lounge and will host workshops, book clubs, events, and gatherings for the community.

Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time Bookseller who is enthusiastic about engaging with people and creating a welcoming environment. This role is active and customer-focused, involving daily interaction with customers, collaboration with colleagues, and hands-on work to keep the store organized, inviting, and well-stocked.

This position is part-time, offering 12-24 hours per week depending on availability. The store will be open Tuesday - Saturday from 11am - 7pm with potential for evening event hours. 

Responsibilities
- Contribute to a respectful and professional environment with customers and colleagues
- Assist customers with purchases, returns, and special orders
- Recommend books and merchandise tailored to customer interests
- Receive, shelve, and organize inventory; maintain store displays
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email
- Keep the store clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Open and close the store as needed
- Participate in other duties as required to ensure smooth store operations

Qualifications
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to recognize tasks and act independently with guidance as needed
- Interest in books and reading, comfortable discussing a variety of genres
- Strong communication skills, including clear writing for customer emails and book reviews
- Customer-focused, with attention to detail in supporting a positive shopping experience
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Physical capability to lift up to 36 lbs and remain on your feet for 4–8 hour shifts
- Retail or relevant customer service experience preferred
- Willingness and ability to learn the bookstore’s point-of-sale and inventory management system
- Professionalism and adaptability in all interactions
