LOCAL AUTHOR INFORMATION

At Indie Darling, we love supporting local and independent authors. Because we receive frequent requests from authors, we’ve created these policies so expectations are clear and the process feels fair and manageable for everyone.

  • Please note: We enjoy meeting authors in person, but all book submission inquiries and applications will be directed to and managed through email and our website.

BOOK SUBMISSIONS

If your book is distributed through Ingram, has a standard discount, and is set as returnable, it may be eligible for direct ordering. We are not currently accepting submissions for books not available on Ingram, and we no longer offer consignment.

If you are interested in having your book in our store, please email us at hello@indiedarlingbookstore.com with:

  • Title, author name, and ISBN

  • A brief book summary

  • Your connection to Wyoming (e.g., do you live here? Have you lived here in the past?)

Some additional information:

  • We will not order books that include generative AI art or writing

  • Please do not drop off or mail books unless specifically asked. We can’t accept unsolicited copies and can’t guarantee their return.

  • We will review your title for potential ordering based on our current inventory needs, category fit, and customer interest. We appreciate that we receive such a high volume of author submissions, but we are a small team and do not have the capacity to respond individually to every request. Because of this, we will only respond if we decide to carry your book.

AUTHOR EVENTS

Scheduling for local author events is based on availability and alignment with our customer interests. Please know we may not be able to accommodate every author signing request. To inquire about hosting one in our store, please email us at hello@indiedarlingbookstore.com.

During signings:

  • Indie Darling Bookstore handles all book sales at the register

  • If the author is bringing their own book, they will receive 60% of the retail price for each book sold

  • We promote events through our social channels and ask authors to share the event as well to help ensure a successful turnout
